These evenings have always been aimed at providing organised social (preferably mixed) doubles play for members of an intermediate standard. No fee will be charged, and no floodlights are available. Players should bring their own balls.
There will be 2 separate sessions, on courts 7-9, one from 18.00 – 19.30 and the other from 19.30 – 21.00, and each session will comprise of two 45 minute playing periods. There will be an organiser for each session, who will allocate players in groups of 4, and arrange a limited change-over after the first 45 minutes. As usual the organiser will attempt to match standards as much as possible, but with only 12 players the scope for doing this will obviously be limited. Note that during each session each player will be playing with 5 other players in total i.e. a group of 6.
All players must apply to play in advance by email to the organiser, no earlier than the previous Wednesday and by no later than Monday evening. The organiser will confirm attendance or otherwise on Tuesday morning. First come, first served, and once a session is fully subscribed (max. of 12 players, including the organiser) no more applicants will be accepted……..but any failed applicant will be offered the chance to be placed on the top of the list for the following week.
This arrangement is only available to Club members (no guests) and only members with confirmed participation should come to the Club Night on the evening concerned.
At all times players must observe the BLTSRC COVID-19 Guidance for players v2, click here.
The organisers for the first sessions on 16th June are:
18.00 - 19.30: Phil Trimmer (tel: 01442 872765/ Email: firstname.lastname@example.org)
19.30 – 21.00: Ian Grant (Tel: 07850717182/ Email: email@example.com)
If this event proves successful and is well-supported, than we will consider restarting other organised doubles sessions and junior club night in the coming weeks.
