Caroline Walker, a longstanding club member, has been running fun charity tennis tournaments, in aid of the Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund over the last few years, raising a fantastic £5,375 in all.

The tennis committee recently agreed to repeat the event, which will take place on Sunday, 15th September October from 2pm (replacing the usual club American Tournament on the last Sunday of September).

All ages and abilities are welcome, everyone will mix round in an ‘American’ style tournament.  No need to come with a playing partner and if it rains, we’ll play in the ITC.

£10 donation requested to enter.  To help understand numbers, it would be helpful if you could enter the tournament via the JustGiving page: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/tennis4tony2019 (or just come along on the day)

After we’ve enjoyed some fun tennis there will be tea and cake and a great raffle, with prizes kindly donated by local businesses.

Or come along and join us for afternoon tea, from 4pm – everyone is welcome.

Caroline is organising this fun tournament in memory of her father, Tony Walker, who died of pancreatic cancer aged only 58.  This cancer has only a 3% survival rate, unchanged in 40 years.  Funding of research is needed to find earlier diagnosis and treatment.

Any questions, please contact Caroline on caroline@confidentteens.co.uk

Hope to see you there!
