John has been a keen squash player for 40 years, the last 20 at BLT&SRC since he and his family moved to Berkhamsted.  Formerly Chair of Squash & Racketball, he has been Club Chair since 2021 after retiring from a career in banking.

Wal joined our club when moving to Berkhamsted almost 40 years ago.  He plays regularly in the teams and in the singles boxes, often bamboozling his opposition with his uncoached style.  Now that he is in his après work phase of life, he has just taken on the position of Club Treasurer.  With his Finance Director and commercial background, he hopes to be a positive addition to the Club Council.

Adam has been a member of the club for over ten years and took on the role of Tennis Chair in early 2025. A former county player for Northumberland and national junior competitor, Adam relocated to London to pursue a career in financial services, where he is currently CFO of an investment management firm. He remains an active and competitive member on both the tennis courts and football pitches, and is a proud family member of the club alongside his wife and two teenage children.  

Tracey joined the club with her parents in 1974 so has witnessed its growth and development to the fantastic facility it has become.  Our club has been a major part of her life, where she has played regularly in teams and socially, and forged lifelong friendships along the way.   Her husband, Wal, joined and then their two children as soon as they could hold a racket.  She has been the tennis Fixtures Secretary since 2001 and joined the Tennis committee soon after, then becoming the Deputy Tennis Chair on the Council.  She has also been involved in many other projects around the club over the years.

Peter has grown up in Berkhamsted and has been a squash player at BLT&SRC since he was 9 years old.  He plays in the leagues and the Club Teams. He has recently retired from the Police Service and now works locally in Outdoor Education.  He has recently started playing Racketball.

Mark is a lifelong squash player and has been based at Berkhamsted for 25 years.  He started off by running the leagues, then organised the teams and eventually became squash chairman for a period.  He is still actively involved in all aspects of squash at the club and always available to help fellow members.

I’ve been a proud member of the club since I was just two years old, and it has been a huge part of my life ever since. My passion for tennis has seen me progress through the junior ranks to become a senior team player, representing the club for many years and building lifelong friendships along the way.

Over the years, I’ve enjoyed giving back to the club in a variety of roles. As Tennis Chair, I helped support the development of tennis within the club and oversaw many of our social events, helping to create a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere for members of all ages.

My involvement hasn’t stopped at tennis—I have also represented the club in team squash and racketball, reflecting my love of racquet sports and my commitment to club life. Today, I continue to contribute as a member of the Club Council, working with fellow members to help shape the club’s future while preserving the friendly community that has meant so much to me throughout my life.
