Playing Arrangements

The aim of the tennis section playing arrangements is to maximise the use of courts and give a fair allocation of time to beginners, intermediates, juniors, club and match players.

  • Doubles takes priority over singles at all times except on courts with a junior or a coaching priority
  • Seniors have priority over juniors except for on court 2 when juniors have priority at all times
  • Coaches have priority on courts 6a and 6b at all times
  • All courts are available on a free play and first-come-first-served basis unless shown otherwise on the Playing Arrangements board on the side of the clubhouse overlooking courts 7-9
  • Courts 1 & 12 are bookable by senior and junior members within 30 minutes of play via our website and booking kiosk in the Clubhouse - if not booked then these courts are free to use. Exception times where members are not able to book courts 1 & 12 are: Friday evenings, Saturday and Sunday mornings and on Tuesday clubnughts except court 1 in Winter. Courts 1 & 12 are not permitted to be booked for coaching sessions.
  • Aylesbury and Herts league matches take priority at all times. During summer there are about four home matches each week - two at the weekend and two midweek evenings. For a full schedule of home matches click here.

Club nights are held on Tuesday evenings from 6.30pm. This will start on courts 7-9 and extend to courts 1-3 and 10-12 after 7pm. In winter, court 1 will be bookable and court 3 has coaching priority.  During Club play full members mix in and ensure that all players get a game, with mixed doubles the priority. On Club evenings there is a charge of £2 per person to cover the cost of floodlights through the year. For more information please contact the Club Night Organiser Phil Trimmer at treasurer@bltsrc.co.uk.
