Playing Arrangements

The aim of the tennis section playing arrangements is to maximise the use of courts and give a fair allocation of time to beginners, intermediates, juniors, club and match players.

  • Doubles takes priority over singles at all times
  • Seniors have priority over Juniors except for on Court 3 when Juniors have priority at all times and Court 2 when Juniors have priority all weekdays until 5pm
  • Coaches have priority on Court 6 at all times
  • All Courts are available on a free play and first-come-first-served basis unless shown otherwise on the Playing Arrangements Board overlooking Courts 7-9
  • Courts 1,2 & 3 are bookable via the internet and booking kiosk - if not booked then these courts are free to use

Club nights are held at 7pm on Tuesday evenings and Sunday afternoons. During club play full members mix in and ensure that all players get a game, with mixed doubles the priority. On club evenings there is a charge of £2 per person to cover the cost of floodlights through the year.   For more information please contact Beginners Club Night Organiser, Carol Wells on 01442 248419 or the Club Night Organiser Phil Trimmer on 01442 872765 or any Committee Member.

Aylesbury and Herts league matches take priority at all times. These are usually played on 2 or 3 of the synthetic grass or astroturf courts. During summer there are about four home matches each week - two at the weekend and two midweek evenings. A full schedule of home matches is published at the beginning of the season. Tennis court schedules are displayed in the members area.

For more detail on Playing Arrangements throughout the week, Rules on who has priority on the various courts at different times, and points on court etiquette and safety, please see the large board on the wall outside the Lounge, overlooking courts 7-9.
